Introducing Baby to Solid Food

Duration120min
LanguageEnglish

This workshop will help you feel more prepared to introduce solid food to your baby. With so much information out there, it can be confusing and difficult to know what is best for you and your little one. Our goal is to empower you with research based knowledge to guide you along baby’s journey into solid foods.

During this workshop we will cover the following areas:

  • When should I start weaning my baby onto solid food?
  • What are the different approaches to weaning?
  • What can I feed them and when?
  • What equipment will I need?
  • What do I need to know about allergies and intolerances?

From the Baby Led Weaning (BLW) approach through to the traditional purée route we will help inform you so you are able to decide what works best for you and your child.

I'm concerned about choking

We understand that choking is a concern when introducing solid food. This is why we have teamed up with the highly experienced Dr Luitgard Holzleg from HEALTHY AND SAFE AWAY FROM HOME to provide you with a video on how to deal with choking in babies as well as other useful information regarding first aid to support you and your baby.

Who is this workshop for?

Parents who will soon be introducing their baby to solid foods (between 4 and 7 months of age). You may be a new parent or a more experienced one who wants to learn more about a different approach.

Can I bring baby along?

Of course! We are here for you and your baby. Bring them along and let them join in the fun. All of our locations are child friendly.

What is included?

The workshop includes a booklet covering all the information covered, menu inspiration and details relevant to Switzerland. There is also an opportunity to join our members only Facebook Weaning Support Group to share your experiences, recipes and questions.

For those of you attending a workshop in person, you will also receive a Nurture Hub goodie bag filled with treats to take home!

Where can I find recommended products?

Check out the Nurture Hub shop for First Food Starter Sets alongside other products recommended in the workshop that are difficult to find in Switzerland.

Do you offer private workshops?

We are happy to provide you with a one-to-one session or a private workshop for groups, companies or schools. Email us for further details: info@nurturehub.ch

I did a Baby Weaning course with Cassie in Zurich and it was great! Lots of great, well researched info presented in an easy to understand way. Cassie was happy to answer all our questions, even the “silly” ones and I now feel so much more prepared to start feeding my little one. We were able to join an exclusive Facebook group after the course where we can support each other, ask questions and continue to learn which I think is a great resource for parents! Highly recommend!
Recently had an online workshop about baby weaning with Cassie, and it was amazing! She was very well prepared, with even a visual presentation for us to see through Zoom and a booklet she emailed to us. She has a lot of knowledge presented with well researched facts, and complimented with a lot of effort, preparation and professionalism.
Thank you very much for a wonderful workshop. Very good to hear some evidence based and research based information. But also thank you for informing us of the options and empowering us all to make our own choices. We’re all on such exciting journeys with our littlest ones!
